OYO plans to launch 100 self-operated hotels in Malaysia in 2024, with the first in Kota Damansara

By 2024, OYO hopes to have added 100 self-operated hotels in Malaysia. To support these properties, the company will seek to enter into annual or long-term revenue-sharing management contracts. This is a component of OYO’s initiative, which uses partnerships to promote economic growth in local communities.

Beginning on March 5, this year, OYO opened the GS Hotel in Kota Damansara, Selangor, marking the establishment of its first independently run hotel in the nation.

The multinational hospitality technology business wants to collaborate with property developers to find and build new hotels in several important locations, including Kota Kinabalu, Penang, and Kuala Lumpur. OYO will guarantee that the realtors receive guaranteed rent for their houses on a monthly or annual basis, thorough training, and other continuous assistance with managing the OYO properties.

The majority of these hotels will fall under the Sunday, Townhouse, Townhouse Oak, and Collection O premium hotel brands offered by the firm.

“OYO finds great success in Malaysia, where we are providing our hotel partners with cutting-edge programs to assist them boost their revenue and maintain their competitiveness in the market. In a press release on Wednesday, OYO Malaysia country head Akshay Rathod stated, “This program will create a collaborative ecosystem where hotel operators taking up properties on lease with OYO will have increased autonomy and opportunities to manage these properties effectively.” The company’s objective is to empower hotel operators with the support necessary to optimize the performance of their hotels.

On the company’s website and app, these hotels will be marked as “Managed by OYO” to emphasize OYO’s hands-on management of their operations. To assess and recognize outstanding performers, the business will maintain a careful eye on the hotel’s maintenance and guest feedback.

“We anticipated a skilled group capable of managing hotel operations. This program has addressed our issues and provided all we needed. It demonstrates OYO’s commitment to establishing an atmosphere that benefits all parties, encouraging development, and promoting team success. We see a lot of growth potential with this initiative,” Datuk Gordev Singh, the owner of the GS Hotel, said.

OYO Rooms offers customers a digital platform that helps them become more visible and, thus, more profitable. With its redesigned technological offerings, such as Co-OYO, guests may create and manage their promotional offers to boost occupancy.
