After the airline’s first flight to Chile, a ceremony at Santiago Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport validated the record for the “Most Countries Flown to by an Airline.” Guinness World Records representatives and Turkish Airlines executives were there to commemorate the milestone.
Based on active routes during the previous 12 months, Guinness World Records confirmed that Turkish Airlines currently offers flights to 120 countries. This number highlights the airline’s unmatched ability to link travellers across continents.
With its flight network spanning an amazing 131 countries, including temporarily stopped flights and the recently announced service to Chile, the airline further solidifies its dominance in the global aviation industry.
This is the first time the record has been formally confirmed, but Turkish Airlines has unofficially held the status of travelling to most nations since 2012.
The record-breaking accomplishment underscores the significance of Turkey’s national flag carrier as a major contributor to global aviation connectivity as it continues to grow its network.
