GEORGE TOWN: A holiday purchase to Chengdu turned into a dream trip to Paris for Penangite C.L. Lim, who walked away with the grand prize in the MATTA Fair Penang 2025 Buyers’ Contest.
The lucky draw, a much-anticipated highlight of the fair, saw Lim clinching two round-trip economy class tickets from Penang to Paris, courtesy of Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG). The win was announced at a prize-giving ceremony held at the M Social Resort Penang.
The contest, organised by the Malaysian Association of Tour and Travel Agents (MATTA) headquarters in collaboration with the MATTA Penang Chapter, ran in conjunction with the Penang leg of the MATTA Fair on May 24 and 25 at Setia SPICE Arena.
Visitors who spent at least RM100 during the fair were automatically eligible for the draw, which offered a line-up of travel prizes ranging from domestic getaways to international adventures.
Other winners bagged trips to Incheon, South Korea; Trivandrum, India; and Sydney, Australia, all sponsored by MAG, while Firefly contributed a return ticket to any of its destinations. Hotel stays were also up for grabs, including a night in a Premium Pool Suite at Lexis Penang with breakfast for two.
Present at the prize presentation were Penang MATTA Chapter chairman Carolyn Leong, along with Malaysia Aviation Group Berhad assistant manager for Northern Region (Commercial Sales) Tan Eu-Jeen and his team member.
The Buyers’ Contest has long been a crowd-puller for the Penang fair, drawing repeat visitors eager to score both bargains and lucky draw prizes.
