Courtyard by Marriott Penang serves up Balik Pulau flavours in new weekend feast

GEORGE TOWN: Food lovers can now savour some of Balik Pulau’s most beloved flavours without leaving the city, thanks to a new dining promotion at Courtyard by Marriott Penang.

The hotel has launched its “Balik Pulau Feast” at Penang Kitchen, offering an array of local hawker favourites and Penang specialties every Friday to Sunday. The promotion, which began on June 12, aims to showcase the rich culinary heritage of Balik Pulau while making the dishes accessible to a wider audience.

Guests can enjoy a variety of popular local dishes with prices starting from RM5.90 per bowl, making it an affordable option for families, friends and food enthusiasts seeking an authentic Penang dining experience.

Among the highlights on the menu are Penang Asam Laksa, White Curry Laksa Bowl, Hokkien Loh Mee, Chicken Noodle Soup, Duck Meat Kway Teow Soup and Char Kuey Teow. A selection of local snacks and traditional desserts is also available.

Adding a distinctive Balik Pulau touch to the feast are durian-inspired desserts, paying tribute to the area’s reputation as one of Penang’s most famous durian-growing regions.

The hotel said the promotion was designed to celebrate Penang’s vibrant food culture while offering guests a relaxed dining experience featuring familiar local flavours.

Available from 6.30pm to 10.30pm every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the Balik Pulau Feast takes place at Penang Kitchen, Courtyard by Marriott Penang.
