George Town, 6 December- The Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) Penang Chapter demonstrated its commitment to community welfare by swiftly organizing aid for flood victims. This evening, members of the chapter gathered at St. Giles Penang, where they were seen loading food and essential supplies, preparing to distribute them to those affected by the recent floods.
This initiative reflects the association’s dedication to supporting local communities in times of crisis, showcasing the hospitality industry’s role beyond tourism by stepping up to provide assistance when it is most needed.
The event was attended by YB Phee Syn Tze, Dato Yeoh Soon Hin, and several hoteliers who joined to show solidarity with the affected communities. The initiative was initiated by MAH Penang, with contributions from 19 hotels under the association’s leadership.
The hoteliers generously sponsored meals and supplies, providing much-needed relief to those impacted by the devastating floods in Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu. The distribution marked the beginning of a broader flood relief mission organized by MAH Penang to extend support to the worst-hit regions.
“This collaboration between MAH Penang and our member hotels is a testament to the hospitality industry’s commitment to giving back during times of crisis,” said a representative from the association.
The association remains dedicated to standing with affected communities, ensuring they receive timely aid and support.
