Perak collaborates with Hong Kong tourism industry players to attract tourists

In conjunction with Visit Perak Year (VPY 2024), Perak is working with stakeholders in the Hong
Kong tourism industry to draw visitors from the region, according to State Tourism, Industry,
Investment and Corridor Development Committee chairman Loh Sze Yee.

According to Loh, a lot of people might be unaware that Ipoh has a very strong brand in Hong
Kong because so many singers and actors from this state work in Hong Kong.
Therefore, we are well-known in Hong Kong, although they refer to us as Ipoh rather than Perak.
Naturally, in an attempt to sell Perak more effectively, even though we enjoy using the term
Ipoh, we need to rename ourselves.

Speaking Cantonese, the Chinese community in Ipoh speaks the language native to them, so
when they visit, they will feel at home. This was stated in a press conference he held following
his officiating of the inaugural launch of the Networking and Business Matching (B2B) Session
VPY 2024 Campaign, Familiarization Trip Tourism Malaysia Hong Kong to Perak, here tonight.

According to Loh, Tourism Perak participated in a networking and business-to-business (B2B)
session today that shared the most recent information about Perak’s unique tourism products,
which are specifically designed to appeal to the East Asia market.

He also reaffirmed that, with an expected tourism receipt value of RM10 billion, the Perak State
Government has set an ambitious objective of welcome 350,000 foreign visitors.
To strengthen diplomatic relations and international cooperation, Loh announced that he will be
attending ITB China this year from May 27 to May 29.
