GEORGE TOWN, PENANG 18 Feb: The Light Hotel has unveiled its highly anticipated this year’s Ramadan buffet, themed ‘Iftar Citarasa Nostalgia at the Spice Brasserie.

The buffet preview was graced by over 150 distinguished guests, including officials from corporate sectors, agencies in Penang and Kedah, entrepreneurs, business owners, media representatives, bloggers and influencers.

Together, the guests gathered to experience an unforgettable gastronomic journey that celebrated the rich culinary traditions of Malaysia.

A key highlight was the collaboration with single mothers who contributed their cherished recipes, adding a personal touch to the event’s menu and promoting future partnerships. Single mothers who were invited were proudly cooking their respective family heirloom specials adding prestige to the occasion. Puan Faridah serves weddings, selling her signature laksa as one of them cooking her specialities of Gulai Labu Air Cinta Manisah dan Kerabu Pucuk Paku Kerang. Joining her is Puan Wan Suzanah who also offers mobile spa services and has lots of signature dishes to share like Udang Masak Lemak Cili Api Musang Berjanggut dan Rendang Assam Ikan Kering Tualang. It’s an appreciation gesture to the community as the hotel’s management sincerely appreciates the sacrifices and unconditional love of single mothers.

The Ramadan buffet took inspiration from the concept of ‘Citarasa Nostalgia,’ or ‘Taste of the Timeless,’ emphasizing the shared cultural and culinary heritage dishes that are ancestral, time-tested, classic and nostalgic specials.

The buffet offered over 200 mouth-watering dishes, showcasing the best of traditional and modern fusion cuisine to accommodate customers’ taste buds.

Highlights included Rendang Tok, Ikan Bakar (grilled fish) station, Daging Harimau Menangis and a whole roasted lamb. Signature curries, lamb biryani and spreads of local hawker-style a la minute noodles were a luxury.

The dining experience is further enhanced with a large spread of traditional and modern dessert selections.
