Malaysia Airlines, Malaysia’s national airline and a member of the Malaysian Aviation Group, has partnered with global travel services provider Trip.com to enhance its MH upgrade programme. This is the airline’s first time offering its upgrade facility on a third-party website, and this offers greater convenience and ease of use for travelers.
MH upgrade allows eligible economy or business class travelers to bid for an upgrade to the next cabin class, even on Malaysia Airlines’ new A330neo planes. With this integration, customers who book flights on Trip.com can now easily access upgrade options, providing them with more flexibility and a better travel experience.
This alliance is a strategic move to further enhance Malaysia Airlines’ presence by leveraging the enormous global network of Trip.com while taking advantage of the increasing demand for premium cabin travel. Trip.com witnessed substantial growth in business class travel, with triple-digit increases from 2023 to 2024.
CT Ooi, Associate Vice President of Trip.com Group, shared the significance of the partnership: “This alliance is in support of our goal to enhance the travel experience through greater choices and greater convenience. It also reflects the confidence of our partners, such as Malaysia Airlines, in us to build innovative travel solutions.”.
Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines within the Malaysia Aviation Group, added further: “We are excited to collaborate with Trip.com to grow the MH upgrade service. This collaboration allows us to provide our customers with an elevated travel experience through our legendary Malaysian Hospitality and increase our global presence with a trusted partner.”
With this project, Malaysia Airlines strives to innovate further and improve the offerings of services, reaffirming its stance of delivering class-first travel experience.
