Penang, Oct 6, 2025 – Courtyard by Marriott Penang is adding spice to its weekends with a culinary celebration that unites the best of Thailand and Penang.
The hotel’s Authentic Thai & Local Flavour Buffet Dinner, a special collaboration with The Thai • เดอะไทย Café and Restaurant, promises a delicious blend of two distinct food cultures, rich, aromatic Thai fare and beloved local favourites.
Held at Penang Kitchen every Saturday from October 4 to November 29, the buffet features a vibrant line-up curated by Guest Chef Pattrawadee Chawsuan Grace from Chonburi, Thailand, together with Chef Ahmad Zaim, Executive Chef of Courtyard by Marriott Penang.
The launch ceremony was graced by HE Mr Psusist Wongsurawat, Consul-General of Thailand in Penang, who was warmly welcomed by Courtyard by Marriott Penang general manager Ms Yvonne Wan and her team. His presence underscored the strong cultural and culinary ties between Malaysia and Thailand.
“Authentic Thai food is all about balance, sweet, sour, salty and spicy in perfect harmony,” said Chef Grace, who also owns The Thai Penang. “I’m thrilled to bring the flavours of Chonburi to Penang.”
Chef Zaim added that the collaboration bridges two culinary traditions. “This collaboration unites Thai vibrance and local soul to create something truly special,” he said.
Among the highlights are Chef Zaim’s Petite Slipper Lobster with Sous Vide Egg on Skin, and Chef Grace’s Miang Kam Bite and Pomelo Salad in Pai Tee. Diners can also enjoy a live Som Tam counter, Green Curry Chicken, Mango and Jackfruit Sticky Rice, and Thai Red Ruby with Jackfruit in Coconut Milk. Each guest receives a refreshing young coconut to complete the meal.
The buffet is priced at RM168 nett per adult and RM99 nett per child or senior citizen, and is available from 6:30 pm to 10:00 pm every Saturday.
