Penang, Malaysia, 2 August 2024 – Food lovers and industry professionals have gathered at the SPICE Arena for the Foodicious Food & Beverage Expo 2024, from 2 to 4 August. This year’s expo promises an exciting array of culinary trends, innovative solutions, and networking opportunities, making it the largest F&B event in the northern region of Malaysia.
The expo, inaugurated by YB Wong Hon Wai, Penang State Exco for Tourism and Creative Economy (PETACE), and Mr Aleex Quah, CEO of Foodicious Sdn Bhd, brings together over 220 vendors ranging from large manufacturers to home-based businesses. It offers a unique platform for local and international F&B brands to showcase their products and engage with a diverse audience of food enthusiasts and industry experts.
A key highlight is the participation of international exhibitors from Indonesia, Thailand, China, the Philippines, and Australia. This presence enriches the expo with diverse flavours and fosters global partnerships within the F&B sector.
YB Wong Hon Wai emphasized the expo’s significance in promoting Penang as a hub for business and tourism. “The Foodicious Food & Beverage Expo 2024 supports our efforts to position Penang as a business and tourism hub,” he stated.
Foodicious has introduced Malaysia’s first F&B expo membership system, offering visitors exclusive benefits and enhancing their overall experience.
Mr. Aleex Quah highlighted the expo’s dedication to innovation and industry growth. “Our membership system aims to provide exclusive access and privileges, promoting loyalty and benefiting our exhibitors,” he said.

Since its establishment in 2016, the Foodicious Food & Beverage Expo has become a crucial marketing platform for global F&B players, trading over RM10 million annually.
This year’s event aims to set new standards and achieve greater heights in the F&B sector. “At Foodicious, we aim to be a one-stop solution hub for F&B players, fostering collaboration and innovation,” Mr Aleex Quah concluded.
The significance of Penang’s culinary heritage was highlighted, with Penang’s diverse culinary scene establishing the city as a global food hub. Penang’s recognition as the second-best solo travel destination in Southeast Asia by Lonely Planet was celebrated.
Looking ahead, the Penang state government plans a large-scale food festival in November on both Penang Island and Seberang Perai. The next Foodicious Food & Beverage Expo is scheduled for 13 to 15 December at SPICE Arena.
