KUALA LUMPUR, July 6– The Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) is commemorating its 50th anniversary with the launch of MAH Domestic Tourism Fair Jom Cuti-Cuti Malaysia 2024 (MDTF), the biggest hotel fair of the year.
Vice president of MAH and organising chairman of the MAH Tourism Fair, Dato Khoo Boo Lim said there is a growing need for a domestic tourism-focused fair.
“As living costs rise, more Malaysians are opting for budget-friendly getaways closer to home, but local offerings are often seen as somewhat expensive.
“This fair aims to showcase affordable luxury stays and encourage locals to discover hidden gems within Malaysia,” he told the reporters at the MAH Domestic Tourism Fair Jom Cuti-Cuti Malaysia 2024, opening ceremony today.
The event was officiated by Tourism Malaysia deputy chairman Dato Yeoh Soon Hin, also graced by Tourism Malaysia director-general Manoharan Periasamy, Negeri Sembilan state Exco Nicole Tan Lee Koon and director of the Terengganu State Economic Planning Unit (UPEN) Dato Tun Ahmad Faisal.
Besides, he said the two-day event is expected to attract some 10, 000 visitors.
To ease traffic congestion, visitors are encouraged to use the free shuttle bus services running between LRT Awan Besar and Pavilion Bukit Jalil every 20 minutes from 8 AM to 11 PM on both days.
Supported by Tourism Malaysia, MDTF 2024 will be held on July 6 and 7, from 10 am to 9 pm, at the Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Exhibition Centre, Level-5 Pink Zone, with free admission to the public.
The event will feature over 150 exhibitors, showcasing more than 100 organizations from Malaysia’s tourism industry, providing a unique opportunity for visitors to discover the best deals and packages available in Malaysia’s domestic tourism market.
