KUALA LUMPUR, June 18 – The second edition of the “Nihao! China” Travel Fair drew thousands of visitors over the weekend, reinforcing China’s growing appeal as a premier travel destination for Malaysians.
Held from June 13 to 15 at the Pavilion Bukit Jalil Exhibition Centre, the event spanned over 3,000 square metres and featured more than 200 booths spotlighting China’s top tourist attractions. From scenic landscapes to historical landmarks, the fair provided Malaysians with a glimpse into the diverse travel experiences awaiting them in China.
Tourism Malaysia deputy chairman Datuk Yeoh Soon Hin, who officiated the event, said the fair plays a vital role in strengthening people-to-people connections between the two nations.

“Tourism and cultural exchanges between Malaysia and China have seen steady and meaningful growth. Events like this further deepen our ties and enhance mutual understanding,” he said during the opening ceremony.
Also present was Minister Counsellor of the Chinese Embassy in Malaysia Zheng Xuefang, who highlighted China’s ongoing efforts to streamline inbound tourism.
“China continues to improve policies and infrastructure to attract more international tourists. With these enhancements, more travellers are discovering, enjoying, and falling in love with China,” he said.
Visitors at the fair echoed this sentiment. Siti Sara Harun, a Malaysian who previously visited Xi’an, shared her enthusiasm for returning to China.
“Even in remote areas, it was surprisingly easy to get around. The cities are clean and modern, and digital payments are widely accepted,” she said.
Another visitor, Hafiz Ghazali, expressed interest in exploring China through its renowned high-speed rail network.
“I’ve read so much about it and can’t wait to experience it myself. I’m hoping to find a travel package here that lets me explore multiple cities by train,” he added.
