GEORGE TOWN, July 23- Tourism Malaysia in collaboration with Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG)and Bank Rayat, launches Fly Borneo Specials Vol.2″– The Adventure Begins Here!’ travel package.
Tourism Malaysia deputy chairman Dato Yeoh Soon Hin said the aim is to promote interstate travel holiday packages in Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan through airline partners Firefly and MASwings.
“These packages will highlight Borneo as an affordable holiday destination with distinctive experiences of culture, nature and adventure.
“We have 113 unique holiday packages developed by 61 tour agents across Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan.
“The packages include destinations like Kota Kinabalu, Mamutik Island, Danum Valley, Mulu National Park, Sarawak Delta Geopark, Labuan Bird Park, and Labuan Museum,” he told the reporters at its launching ceremony today.
He said that to make the packages affordable, Malaysia Aviation Group is offering a 40% discount on flights via Firefly and MASwings. At the same time, Bank Rakyat provides a 36-month, 0% interest payment plan for package purchases using their credit card and banking terminals.
He said this initiative aims to make seamless and affordable vacations in Borneo a reality for more travellers.
“In 2023 we successfully launched Fly Borneo Specials Vol.1 last September in Kota Kinabalu and we have recorded a total sale of RM450,000.00.
“With this positive response, we hope it will continue to entice people to choose Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan as their preferred holiday destinations.
“We are targeting 220 million domestic visitors with RM87.8 billion tourism receipts in 2024,” he added.
In conjunction with the launch, a Business to Business (B2B) session was held, bringing together 28 key tourism industry players from Borneo and the northern region, further promoting the region as a premier travel destination.
