Emirates SkyCargo launches dedicated AI Tech service amid rising global demand

Emirates SkyCargo has introduced a dedicated logistics service to support the growing global demand for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure, offering specialised transportation solutions for high-value and sensitive technology equipment.

Known as AI Tech, the new service is designed to ensure the safe, reliable and timely movement of critical AI infrastructure, including server racks, semiconductors, graphics processing units (GPUs) and other essential computing equipment.

The launch comes as demand for AI-related infrastructure continues to accelerate worldwide. Emirates SkyCargo reported transporting more than 700 tonnes of AI infrastructure across its global network in July alone, with volumes continuing to increase.

The service combines priority loading, specialised cargo handling and proactive shipment monitoring through the airline’s command centre in Dubai. It is designed to support large-scale technology deployments, which often involve high-value equipment, tight delivery schedules and specific handling requirements.

By March 2027, Emirates SkyCargo expects to operate a fleet of 23 dedicated freighter aircraft, providing additional main-deck capacity for transporting oversized and heavy equipment, including server racks that can weigh more than 3.5 tonnes. The airline also offers cargo capacity through its wide-body passenger aircraft.

According to the Dubai-headquartered carrier, AI Tech incorporates globally standardised handling procedures to maintain equipment orientation and minimise the risk of damage during transportation.

Other features include priority loading and scheduling for time-sensitive shipments, airport-to-airport shipment visibility, milestone monitoring and proactive customer coordination throughout the transportation process. Specialist project cargo support is also available for oversized and heavy consignments.

Emirates SkyCargo said the introduction of AI Tech reflects its efforts to address the increasingly complex logistics requirements of the global technology sector as AI adoption expands across industries.

Drawing on its experience in transporting technology and high-value cargo, the airline aims to provide businesses with a dedicated logistics solution focused on speed, reliability, shipment visibility and specialised handling.
