Marriott International, SKS Group sign agreement to open new hotel in Selangor

PETALING JAYA: To launch Courtyard by Marriott Subang, Marriott International and the SKS Group have inked a hotel management contract. This is SKS Group’s first project outside of Johor and its third partnership with Marriott International. Sheraton Johor Bahru, scheduled to open in 2022, and Four Points by Sheraton Desaru, which debuted in 2021, are examples of past projects.

The SKS Group and Marriott International are excited to collaborate on the expansion of the Courtyard by Marriott brand in one of Malaysia’s most vibrant commercial and cultural hubs, according to Andree Susilo, Senior Director, Hotel Development, Asia-Pacific. Subang is thriving and in high demand among local and foreign tourists, which makes it a perfect choice for Courtyard by Marriott, where visitors can enjoy all the amenities they require whether travelling for work or pleasure. This agreement demonstrates our unwavering dedication to the development of Malaysian hospitality and our owners’ faith in our name.

The 2026 opening of Courtyard by Marriott Subang is scheduled to take place within a mixed-use project that also includes retail spaces. The hotel’s 280 tastefully decorated rooms will be ideally situated in Subang’s thriving business district. Visitors will enjoy its ideal location, which is only a 5-minute drive from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport and 35 minutes from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), with leisure attractions close by and great international and domestic connectivity. A modern rooftop pool, flexible event rooms, and an all-day eating restaurant are among the planned amenities. With four meeting rooms and a ballroom spanning over 1,000 square meters, the hotel is expected to be the perfect location for a range of events, including conventions, seminars, workshops, and weddings.

“As someone who grew up in Selangor, I find great personal significance in today’s signing ceremony as we begin to expand our presence throughout Malaysia,” said Meera Raj, SKS Group’s Head of Hospitality. With a variety of our unique hospitality services, our relationships with Marriott International solidify our contribution to Subang’s appeal as a business and leisure destination. The aforementioned event establishes the foundation for the hotel sector in Malaysia to soar to new heights and emphasizes our common goal of delivering outstanding hospitality experiences to everybody.

“Marriott International is renowned around the world for establishing the standard for hospitality. Through this collaboration, Subang will benefit from their knowledge and commitment to quality. We are thrilled to carry on the heritage of Courtyard by Marriott by serving sophisticated clients who are passionate about distinction. Raj continued, “Our well-appointed guestrooms will enable visitors to unwind, rejuvenate, and prosper, irrespective of the reason for their visit.
