Penang, Malaysia – October 26, 2024 – Penang is all set to host the Penang International Food Festival @ Tanjong 2024 (PIFF @Tanjong) on November 2-3 at Beach Street. This eagerly awaited culinary event will celebrate the city’s rich food heritage, showcasing traditional and modern dishes from some of the most skilled chefs in the region.
With over 100 food stalls, the festival promises an immersive experience for food enthusiasts, who can savour a wide array of local delights. Festivalgoers can look forward to iconic Penang street foods like Char Koay Teow, Passembur, Nasi Lemak, and Asam Laksa, alongside innovative creations. Michelin-selected eateries, popular dessert and café vendors, leading hotel culinary teams, and food trucks will also be on hand to serve up unforgettable flavours.
This year, the festival takes on an international twist with special stalls from the Consulate-Generals of Indonesia and Thailand. These additions will bring tastes from the neighbouring countries, further enhancing the festival’s diverse culinary landscape.
In addition to a remarkable food lineup, PIFF @Tanjong will offer an array of live entertainment and cultural performances, beginning with a vibrant multicultural drum show. Other highlights include a lion dance on stilts, a live cooking demonstration by Malaysian Celebrity Chef Zam, and performances by local talents from SJKC Hu Yew Seah and the Penang Shine Like Stars Association. Attendees can also look forward to appearances by popular Malaysian personalities Jestinna Kuan, Danny, and Santesh Kumar.
