MAH-AVIS Malaysia Celebrates 13th Anniversary of Best Turnout Treasure Hunt with Pioneering Interaction

IPOH, 14 July 2025 – The Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) in collaboration with AVIS Malaysia brought the high-adrenaline 13th edition of the MAH-AVIS Treasure Hunt to a close on a high note of excitement.

Organized on Saturday, 12 July 2025, this activity was a full-day event where 37 hotel staff teams embarked on a brain-bending expedition from Kuala Lumpur to Perak, testing their wit, teamwork, and knowledge of local culture in an action-packed combination of riddles, checkpoints, and challenges-on-the-move.

Flagged off in the early hours of the morning from AVIS Malaysia Headquarters, the “hunters” rode over scenic roads and heritage towns before gathering together for a grand finale dinner and award presentation at MH Hotel Ipoh.

At the top of the leaderboard was Team R2D2 from Legoland Malaysia, who emerged as champion with an RM2,000 cash prize.
Team 4 Sekawan of Macalister Mansion was crowned 1st Runner-Up, and the 2nd Runner-Up prize went to Team Huntsolo Forever of Mutiara Taman Negara. The latter also impressed participants with imagination to be crowned “Picture of Choice” Award recipient.

“Beyond just being a competition – it’s an opportunity to reconnect, discover, and celebrate the spirit of Malaysian hospitality,” said Ms Shirley Lai, Organising Chairperson and MAH Vice President. “Our hoteliers are the representatives of Malaysia’s tourism industry. Giving them firsthand experience with various destinations assists us to better serve our visitors.”

In keeping with MAH’s corporate social responsibility mission to serve the community, a donation to Pertubuhan Pengurusan Pusat Jagaan 1 Malaysia, Perak, was also made in support of its ongoing care for underprivileged children in the state.

The evening prize-giving ceremony was also attended by YB Tuan Loh Sze Yee, Chairman of the Perak State Committee for Tourism, Industry, Investment and Corridor Development, who was the Guest of Honour.

Other distinguished tourism players who attended were:

  • Mr. Andrew Ng, AVIS Malaysia Marketing Manager
  • YBhg. Datuk Hj. Mohd Odzman, President of Perak Tourism
  • En. Muhammad Aminuddin, Director MOTAC Perak
  • YBhg. Datin Christina Toh, MAH President
  • Mr. Tony Wong, MAH Perak Chapter Chairman

With the 13th treasure hunt already at heart for participants, MAH gives a whisper of greater and more exciting venues for future treasure hunts.

“MAH is proud to bring our members together in a meaningful way that blends exploration, education, and engagement,” the association said in a closing statement. “We’re already charting the course for the next great adventure.”
