Tourism Ministry closely monitoring hotel check-in issue

PUTRAJAYA: The Ministry of Tourism, Arts, and Culture is keeping a careful eye on the problem of hotel check-ins in the nation and is treating it seriously. They are also requesting an explanation from industry participants.

It stated in a statement today that it is open to receiving more public information about the matter, which can be emailed to info@MOTAC.gov.my.

Before making a reservation, the public is also advised by the ministry to study and comprehend the terms and conditions imposed by the hotel.

“This step is crucial to prevent any misunderstandings or dissatisfaction, especially concerning pricing and services provided,” added the statement.

Some hotel owners decided to set their check-in time at 4 p.m. and check-out time at 11 a.m., according to recent media reports.

Social media users have been discussing this new regulation, with most of them feeling that it is unfair to clients because it drastically reduces the length of their stay – Bernama
