StayMii, GlobalTix Join Forces to Expand Malaysian Tourism Experiences to Global Markets

KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 29, 2026 — Malaysian tourism attractions and experience operators are set to gain wider access to regional and international travel markets following a strategic partnership between StayMii and GlobalTix.

The partnership was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Mii Global Partner Holdings Sdn. Bhd., the company behind the MYSTI-certified StayMii brand, and GlobalTix Pte Ltd, a leading B2B ticketing and experience distribution platform.

The agreement was signed by StayMii Director Looi Je Dee and GlobalTix Chief Operating Officer Chan Chee Kong during NICE 2026 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.

Held under the theme “Mission to Market: Malaysia to the World,” NICE 2026 was officiated by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, while the MOU signing was witnessed by Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Chang Lih Kang.

The collaboration is aimed at strengthening the digital connectivity and international distribution capabilities of Malaysian tourism operators, particularly attractions, museums, tours, cultural sites and other visitor experiences.

At the centre of the collaboration is StayMii Global Market Connect (SGMC), an initiative designed to create a connected digital distribution environment for Malaysian tourism businesses.

Through the partnership, participating operators will have opportunities to connect with GlobalTix’s established B2B network, which includes travel agents, resellers, online travel agencies and other international tourism channels.

For Malaysian tourism operators, the collaboration could provide a more streamlined pathway to move beyond domestic and direct sales channels and tap into overseas travel demand.

Looi said tourism digitalisation should go beyond simply placing tickets online, stressing the importance of connecting local operators with the wider travel ecosystem.

“True tourism digitalisation goes beyond simply putting tickets online. It is about creating meaningful connectivity between local tourism operators and the wider travel ecosystem,” he said.

He added that StayMii would provide the local technology and connectivity foundation through SGMC, while GlobalTix would contribute its international distribution capabilities.

“This partnership creates a strong launching pad for Malaysian tourism operators to adopt digital technology, expand their distribution reach, and bring more Malaysian experiences to the global tourism market,” Looi said.

Meanwhile, Chan said GlobalTix was excited to work with StayMii to support the development of a more connected digital tourism ecosystem in Malaysia.

He said StayMii’s local market knowledge and technology capabilities could complement GlobalTix’s international distribution network.

“Together, we see an opportunity to create a more connected digital journey for tourism operators while helping Malaysian attractions and experiences reach wider travel markets,” Chan said.

StayMii currently provides digital solutions covering merchant integration, e-ticketing, e-invoicing and related hospitality and tourism technology services.

Its platform includes StayMii Lite, StayMii E-Invoice and StayMii E-Ticket, supporting operators with digital invoicing, QR-code ticket validation, visitor management, operational reporting and other functions.

Through SGMC, StayMii is also working to onboard Malaysian attractions, museums and tourism merchants and connect them with international distribution networks.

GlobalTix, established in 2013, provides booking, channel management and distribution technology for tourism businesses and operates a global network comprising more than 180,000 experiences and 15,000 reseller partners.

The partnership comes as Malaysia continues efforts to strengthen its tourism ecosystem through digitalisation and improve the global visibility of local attractions and experiences.

For smaller attractions and tourism operators in particular, stronger access to international distribution platforms could help them reach travellers who may otherwise have limited exposure to lesser-known Malaysian experiences.

The collaboration between StayMii and GlobalTix therefore represents another step towards building a more digitally connected tourism ecosystem — linking Malaysian tourism products with travellers and distribution partners beyond the country’s borders.
