Kuala Lumpur, 26 September 2024 – Vietjet, in partnership with U.S.-based Honeywell Aerospace Technologies, has taken a major step toward greener aviation with a newly signed agreement. This collaboration, aimed at providing advanced avionics and technical services for Vietjet’s fuel-efficient fleet, marks a key milestone in the airline’s journey toward sustainable growth. The agreement was exchanged during an official event in the United States, attended by Vietnam’s Party General Secretary and State President To Lam, as part of his working visit.
The agreement, signed by Vietjet CEO Dinh Viet Phuong and Honeywell Aerospace Technologies representative Joseph Vitulli, focuses on integrating Honeywell’s avionics and APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) maintenance programs for Vietjet’s new-generation A330neo wide-body and narrow-body aircraft. The deal also includes Honeywell’s Flight Efficiency solution, which will help monitor fuel efficiency and reduce emissions across Vietjet’s fleet.
Dinh Viet Phuong expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “This agreement marks a new chapter in our long-standing relationship with Honeywell. We are dedicated to sustainable growth and green transformation, with a focus on reducing emissions and expanding our intercontinental flight network. Honeywell’s cutting-edge technology will be instrumental in helping us provide safe, high-quality, and eco-friendly flights, all while advancing our environmental, social, and governance (ESG) objectives.”
Joseph Vitulli highlighted the importance of this collaboration, adding, “We are excited to extend our partnership with Vietjet. Our nearly decade-long relationship has led to successes in reducing carbon footprints and improving fuel efficiency. Through our technology, Vietjet can optimize aircraft performance, allowing the airline to enhance passenger experiences while meeting long-term sustainability goals.”
The cooperation with Honeywell underscores Vietjet’s ongoing investment in advanced aviation technologies, which will enhance passenger experience and support fleet and network expansion efforts.
