The analysis is limited to security-related factors and considers metrics such as the US State Department’s travel safety rating, Numbeo’s crime risk per city, and The Economist’s personal security risk data (i.e., the degree to which a citizen is vulnerable to crime, violence, terrorism, natural disasters, and economic vulnerabilities). The study contrasts 60 global locations.
Ultimately, Singapore surpasses Tokyo (Japan) and Toronto (Canada) to become the world’s safest city to visit. According to Forbes Advisor, Singapore receives a score of 0 out of 100 for estimated risk. On the other hand, Caracas, Venezuela, receives a score of 100 out of 100, making it the most dangerous city for travellers.
However, not all of Asia receives such high marks. The second least safe place for travellers is Karachi, Pakistan (93.12), followed by Yangon, Burma (91.67 out of 100).
Conversely, Europe is not seen as a hazardous location. The top riskiest travel spots don’t show up until the 26th, with Milan and Rome, both in Italy, representing Italy (26th and 28th). 31st in Paris, France.
