MELAKA: In a ceremony conducted last night, Melaka announced the debut of the RM10 Combo Menu as part of the Melaka Nightlife program in conjunction with Visit Melaka Year 2024 (TMM2024).
Thirty restaurant, cafe, and eatery proprietors from throughout the state would take part in the program, which is scheduled to run from October 5 to November 2, according to Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusoh.
Kilang Makan, Parang Cafe, and The Windmill Station are among the participating establishments; they serve a range of foods, including laksa nyonya, durian cendol, and Western cuisine.
“This effort will take place in conjunction with the Melaka Nightlife program every month during the first week, from 11 p.m. to 2 a.m. In keeping with TMM2024, it will function as a new tourist destination for the state.
The local economy will benefit from this project, so I urge all restaurant owners to support it. After introducing the RM10 Combo Menu and Kilang Makan at Jalan Tun Ali here, he told reporters, “They can work with the state government by offering the RM10 Combo Menu.”
Hailhesfa Mohd Merry, the founder of Kilang Makan, announced that more than 20 food and beverage merchants on the property would provide tourists and guests with the RM10 Combo Menu.
According to him, the goal of this program is to help small merchants increase their revenue by providing menus at a lesser cost than on ordinary days, in line with the state government’s attempts to promote tourism.
A 38-year-old vendor at Kilang Makan’s Noodle Department, Rohaini Iskandar, said she is now selling a laksa nyonya set with mineral water for RM10, as opposed to RM18.90.
“My great-uncle created the Laksa Nyonya recipe, which I offer to the Baba and Nyonya community. This program also aids in spreading the word about my food to a larger audience,” stated Rohaini, who has owned her noodle shop since 2015 – NST
