Penang, Malaysia, 9 November 2024 — This weekend, food lovers are in for a treat as the Penang International Food Festival (PIFF) heads to Batu Kawan for an exceptional culinary showcase, bringing together over 100 of Penang’s best cafes, restaurants, and street food stalls. Running from 5 PM to 11 PM on November 9 and 10, this much-anticipated event will highlight Batu Kawan’s emerging appeal as a “hidden holiday gem” in Seberang Perai.
The festival aligns with the Penang2030 vision and the “Jom! Experience Penang” tourism campaign, inviting both locals and tourists to discover Batu Kawan’s vibrant food scene. Attendees can look forward to a variety of dining experiences, from charming cafes in the Pop-up Cafe Corner, serving refined pastries and drinks, to the smoky flavors of the Barbecue Corner, sure to be a hit with meat lovers.
Beyond the food, PIFF @ Batu Kawan will be a feast for the eyes, with captivating decorations designed to create picture-perfect moments for visitors. A lineup of live music performances and an electrifying fire show are set to add excitement to the atmosphere, making it a memorable event for all ages.
Drawing an anticipated crowd of over 200,000 visitors, PIFF @ Batu Kawan promises to be Penang’s largest culinary gathering to date. The event’s opening ceremony is scheduled for 8 PM on November 9, with a spectacular fireworks display planned to mark the celebration.
